HISTORY

As local bike shop owners for almost 30 years now, Ashan & Leanne have experienced first hand the exciting evolution of the retail bicycle business. Working hard to keep pace with the changing needs of the cycling community, Trek Bicycle Kingston was created to offer an enhanced and simplified shopping experience, committed to service excellence. Proud to now be a destination shop for not just Kingston, but many of the cities spanning from Cornwall to Oshawa, the Trek Kingston team strives to create a warm, inviting environment for people of all ages, abilities and experiences. Their new location in the southwest area of Kingston offers a spacious & comfortable shopping environment, with ample parking and access to quiet streets for test rides. 

PEOPLE

Friendly, approachable, and highly knowledgeable, our Trek Bicycle Kingston team is committed to helping you get the very best products and services for your needs. We are an eclectic bunch of individuals, coming from a variety of cycling backgrounds - city commuters, recreational road & trail riders, triathletes, world-ranked cyclocross competitors. We are people of all ages with one very special thing in common - our love of the bicycle, and everything it can do for us. We believe that a bike shop should be inviting - not intimidating - and our people are here to make YOU feel welcome.

SOCIAL

We believe in giving back to our community, and we do that through team sponsorships, in-kind donations, and attendance at community events whenever possible. As a by-product of our successful kids' trade-up program, we are able to reach the broader community by way of regular donations of used kids' bikes to non-profit community organizations, such as St. Vincent de Paul, Gear-Up Kingston, and Yellow Bike Action.  We also proudly support our military community through our partnership with CFMWS as a CANEX retail partner.

RESPONSIBILITY

We’re always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint, and to model environmentally responsible behaviour. That's why, in 2019, Trek Bicycle Kingston became a member of the Green Economy Program at Sustainably.eco and has committed to taking measurable action on climate change.

We're excited to track our progress! Our business is already known for its constant efforts to divert 100% of cardboard, paper, plastic, and metal waste that comes into our store. Our recyclables are delivered weekly to KARC, local metal recyclers, local tire recyclers, and sometimes even donated to local artisans. Care is taken to use biodegradable and environmentally friendly products whenever possible. Our people are committed to using active transportation as much as feasible.
